Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! (a day late :) How was all your thanksgiving? We had a lot of fun. I made stuffing and stuffed the turkey yesterday morning, which I always love doing. I also made a really yummy sweet potato recipe, that is super easy:

Elizabeth's Thanksgiving Sweet Potatoes
3/4 c. white sugar
4 T. orange juice (we used mango-peach)
4 T. vanilla extract
1 T. cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. salt
3 lbs sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-in. chunks

Peel and cut the sweet potatoes and put in a large bowl. Mix up the rest of the ingredients in a small bowl, to form like a marinade. Then pour it over the sweet potatoes, and stir to make sure they are coated well. Put in a 9x13 pan, covered with foil. Bake in preheated 400 degrees oven for 50-60 minutes.

After we had made everything, we just hung out for the rest of the morning/afternoon. We also played Wii for a while. We had some friends come over for Thanksgiving dinner, and they came around 4. We had our feast, did dishes, had dessert, and then talked for awhile. In addition, we have a tradition that we started last year. You cut up some slips of paper, and get out a big ball jar. We call it the "Thankful Jar". Basically, everyone writes things they're thankful for on the slips of paper - you can write however many you want. Our jar is always full. :) Then we will read them all during dinner, and try to guess who wrote each one. The handwriting usually gives it away, though. :) Then, after our friends left, we played a game of Clue, which Abby won, then we went to bed. And that was our thanksgiving.
